Transformation of an unremarkable suburban home into an architectural retreat that showcases the owner’s love of Japan. The home features a curved gold leaf ceiling to capture winter sun and provide powerful uplighting at night, traditional Japanese charred wood, an off-form concrete wall and shoji screens which disappear into cavity walls when not in use.
